Large letters which were easy to read. Did not try reading it in bright direct sunlight but expect it will be same as any LCD screen. Family member I bought it for is on oxygen. Readings changed when he was on and off the oxygen and the readings were the same as a professional unit we compared it against.
For mountain climbers,the accompanying instructions for use say that this model is only accurate up to 14,000 feet. Did see that some of their other models are good to beyond Everest and those models are recommended for high altitude mountain climbing.
